Who is
Christian Bau?

Modernism is based on classicism.

Born in Baden, Christian Bau discovered his passion for cooking early on, at the age of fourteen. Driven by his unleashed passion, he completed his apprenticeship in Achern as the best apprentice of his year. After gaining valuable experience at the Talmühle in Sasbachwalden and later at the Le Canard restaurant in Offenburg, he finally cooked his way into the famous Schwarzwaldstube in Baiersbronn. Here, as sous-chef, he found the essence of a classic culinary art, the substance of which is still reflected in his craft today. Since April 1998, Christian Bau has been realizing his vision of contemporary top cuisine as head chef and host at Victor's Fine Dining by Christian Bau at Schloss Berg in Perl-Nennig on the Moselle.

A unique connection in many respects. In Sarah Bau, one of the great hopes for the future of top German gastronomy is at Christian Bau's side - both at the restaurant stove and in his private life. "As sous chef at Schloss Berg, she is already playing in the Champions League, creating one of the most influential kitchens in Germany. And when necessary, she does so in every position and with every plate, from the first aperitif to the last petit four, with a meticulousness and dedication that is constitutive of Christian Bau's overall cooking style," writes Gault&Millau. And in its Restaurant Guide 2023/24, it names Sarah Bau as a hope for the future of top German gastronomy.
